Idea

My idea is based on football and why people support certain teams. I will be conducting interviews with people who follow football and support a team. The research I did made me decide to do this documentary since I feel I can make my documentary look good, I also feel i can get enough information to make a five minute documentary.

For my footage i will be recording interviews with Conor Blake, Daniel Alvares and myself in the studio which i will ask them questions about football. I will be taking pictures of mine, Daniel's and Conor's football merchandise to talk about in the documentary.

Proposal

The goal of my documentary is to get the different views of what people think about there team and compare that to different club supporters. My film will show this by exploring peoples views on the team they support and why they support them, basically trying to get them to elaborate so I can get as much information as possible. The main conflict is between the football teams, a lot of rivals in the sport of football. Ultimately I want the audience to feel the passion football gives to people and to understand that football can have a big impact on someone's life.

The subject is football fandom  and its about people's opinions on the team they support so I can compare how they feel about there team's and why they support them etc. The background information people will need to know is to have enough knowledge of football to understand what they are talking about, if not they could still watch and learn some information about football and football teams.

I will be interviewing three people about the team they support. I will be interviewing 2 fellow classmates Conor Blake and Daniel Alvearies, Both of these people support a tea and know enough information for me to make a documentary on. I will also be interviewing my Dad who also supports a team. This will be interesting because they all support a different team so ill be able to get three different perspectives.

I'm interviewing these three specific people because they all follow a football team because if I interviewed someone who doesn't follow football I would probably get a lot of unsure answers and nothing would make sense since they don't follow football or don't know much about it. So Conor for instance supports Tottenham, so he will be able to tell me a lot of information about that club which I can compare with the others in my documentary.

The conflict in this documentary is the football teams. Everyone is going to praise the team they support, so there will be some conflict. Also im a manchester united fan and im the person interviewing so there could be some confrontation and conflict. I will also ask them what they think of other teams to get an idea of how they feel about them.

The people who im interveiwing may have biased views since all three are talking about there own team and i dont have more than one person talking about the same team. It will most likely be a positive biased view since they support that club, its rare football fans will talk badly on there club unless there annoyed with the outcome of a match. I will be asking everyone the same questions but about there club so i can compare with the clubs about the similarites or differences.

I will structure the documentary in a way so when the person im interviewing is speaking ill fade out and add pictures of what they are talking about to make the audience understand a bit better about what they are talking about. I will also try and structure it to make in engaing by making it a little tense at times, for example ill ask a question " what do you think of Manchester united" to Conor and Daniel then there will be a long pause of silence flicking back from both of them. The introduction will be introducing themselves and the team they support. For the middle ill be asking them questions about the club they support. Then for the end ill be asking them what they think of the other clubs to spice it up a bit and make it more engaing.

When filming the interviews ill be filming them in a medium close up shot. I will be making sure the camera is in focus and the lighting is set how i want it. Like i said i want to make in engaging so there will be times ill ask them to do a five second pause before they answer the question. The modes in the doucmentary will be poetic mode since it may be a biased view. It will also have the participatory mode because i will be finding images of the topic they are speaking about and adding them to my documentary as they are speaking preferably. Im also hoping there will have the performative mode since i want my documentary to be engaging.

I want the resolution to make the audience understand the different perspectives of what people know and feel about the team they support and how football can have a big impact of peoples lives. I want the ending to be enegaging and intense. I also want the audience to learn something new from the documentary about football fans such as the energy people get and how emtional it can be.

The documentary i'm doing isn't unique because alot of football fans could do this interview if they wanted to but the people i'm intervewing are talking about there opinion on football and they may not let anyone else interview them so it could be a unique documentary.

The logistics could be that people decide not to do the interview which could ruin the whole idea or they could hurt themselves and not be able to come in for the interview luckily for my dad I'll film the interview at home, another problem here could be that the equipment could break or not work which will lose some time.
