Evaluation

My documentary was about Football fandom and the similarities and differences fans have of there club.

For filming the interviews for my documentary we arranged to shoot in the studio in springboard. We used a camera and a mic for the interviews. I interviewed Daniel and Conor fellow classmates and i also got Dan to interview me. The interviews were successful apart from one which i put as a practise interview because it was a bit out of focus. I will know for next time to zoom into the person's eyes and focus since this makes sure the person is in full focus. 

I edited on a software called Premier Pro which i put together the whole documentary using the interviews, archival footage and some of my own footage. I will know for next time to pick a topic where i can get a lot of my own footage.

My idea page had the questions I was asking and my whole idea in general and what i was going to use and where I was going to record. The studio was a good place to record the documentary so i will know for next time to use the studio for future projects.

On my research page, I researched into what a documentary was and i talked about the modes, conventions and question types of documentary, I also had to do a one thousand word essay on the purpose of documentary. There's a practise interview i did with Conor which we recorded in the studio. I put my survey link on my research page which i made with (surveymonkey.com) i managed to get three responses. From these answers i got to know if the people answering were a good target audience or not, unfortunately they didn't seem that interested but i'm sure i can persuade them with my documentary. I will try next time to get more people to do my survey because i couldn't really tell my target audience with only three people.

My planning page is where I have put my risk assessment and my location recce. My risk assessment involves the possible hazards that could occur during the shooting of the interviews, it also makes sure we know how to prevent them. The location recce tells you where i am shooting and if we have permission to film there and who else is going to be there with me. No accidents happened during the shootings of the interviews and everyone managed to make it. This taught me that safety is a very important when using equipment.

On my proposal page I talked about the purpose of my documentary and what i wanted to convey to my audience and basically explain the whole project and what i was going to do. This taught me how to explain a project in as much detail as possible and i will know for next time how to write a good proposal.

On my production page I put my final finished documentary on there and basically talked about how it went and what I did to make things better when editing. The documentary was about five minutes and it looked very good in my opinion. For future projects ill know that i am able to do a good documentary. It was a good opportunity to have more experience with Premier Pro, camera's and the lighting. 

Overall the project was successful because everything went to plan and everything was done in time, there were no cancellations or problems when editing.
